Well here we are half way thru July and it’s just now starting to feel like summer. The weather in sunny california is starting to heat up, well except for today when I had to use my windshield wipers coming home from breakfast. But going to the beach is starting to sound like a good idea. Heard the state beaches are charging $15 a day to park, sounds like a lot but to be able to park right up by the sand, the showers and the bathrooms is worth every penny, especially if you have kids.
What will the local news media talk about when Carmegeddon is over? For those of you not from Southern California and have no idea what this is, let me fill you in. The state is closing the 405 frwy which is one of the main arteries from the valley to LA and the airport for 58 hours. Totally shutting it down, both sides for almost 3 days. Now mind you those of us in Orange county wonder what all the hype is about because we can easily get to where we need to go in LA or the airport by using other routes. These people have gone nuts! There are T-shirts, good deals at hotels, helicopters available for large fee. Restaurants are either closing down for the week-end or putting their employees up in hotels so they can get to work. All the major news channels have huge count down clocks so you know the exact minute they will close the freeway, its crazy. They are advising people to just stay home this week-end or stay close, enjoy your local area so you don’t get caught in the gridlock. Like I said, what will they be talking about next week when it’s over?
On a good note, Thank heavens for USA, TNT and Lifetime networks and their crop of good summer shows. I am enjoying The Protector, Burn Notice, Royal Pains, Covert Affairs, Necessary Roughness, Leverage and In Plain Sight even more than some of the regulars of the fall season. These are good dramas that are on early because they are on cable channels and they sure beat the reruns or reality shows of summer.
Lastly and this is my own personal opinion, a gal in Southern Calif. drugged her husband, tied him to the bed, cut off his penis and stuffed it down the garbage disposal then called 911. She was arrested and if convicted could spend the rest of her life in jail AND Casey Anthony is not guilty????? What is wrong with this picture?
